99 Feelings

How many feelings do you feel in a day? My answer to this question is lots. The next question would be how or did you express these emotions? I find that some days I keep them to myself, confined in a small space that sooner or later is likely to explode unless I channel them into something like art or dance.
Mitsy Sleurs found her expression in porcelain doll figures based on the from of a Russian Matryoshka doll. She created 99 unique dolls based on 99 unique feelings and emotions to help her express herself creating an emotional self portrait. Her work is beautiful and speaks to everyone. Enjoy!

Artist Studio

"Without the studio, however humble, the room where the imagination can enter cannot exist." Anna Hansen

This video is a fabricated look into the studio of the artist M.C. Escher. Created by the Spanish artist Cristobal Vila who imagined this studio space based on his geometric and mathematically inclined work. This film is a beautiful and poetic glimpse into a studio filled with inspiration and intrigue.

Down The Forest Path

I have always felt slightly self conscious about my artistic process.  I often paint over sections and start over covering up flaws and mistakes under layers and layers of paint. For awhile the thought of showing a work in progress (WIP) sent me into an anxiety ridden panic attack but I eventually decided that I was ready for the challenge.

I had this particular painting well thought out before I started so I felt reasonably confident that I could get through it without any massive mistakes. I was also experimenting with different coloured under painting as I really wanted to bring out the depth and richness of the forest foliage.

In the end I managed to capture the light shinning through the leaves onto the path. This painting gives me a sense of peace and tranquility and reminds me of adventurous days in my childhood.
